Athletes use Pilates to build flexibility, suppleness, coordination and core strength. Longer and stronger muscles assist in injury prevention. Pilates training assists you as an athlete to gain an edge. It includes balance, co-ordination, breathing, concentration, relaxation, alignment and that feature of great sportspeople easy to appreciate but hard to describe: flow.

Top athletes who know the benefits of Pilates range from golfers David Duval, Steve Ballesteros and Annika Sorenstam to tennis players Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport.
Every sport has its distinctive patterns of movement. Some sports use certain muscles repeatedly while ignoring others risking an unbalanced physique. Pilates is an ideal complement to other training methods to create and maintain a balanced body.
